A 25-year-old man was airlifted to Tupelo Saturday night after being shot in the stomach on Southside.

According to the Columbus Police Department, three men had been involved in an argument earlier in the day. When they crossed paths later that night, an altercation erupted and one of the men was shot.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Bell Avenue and 17th Street South, near EJ Quick Stop.

When officers arrived they found the victim on the ground. He was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, and then airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Officers also recovered several firearms from the scene.

On Tuesday officers arrested DeAngelo Fisher, 34, of 408 8th Avenue North in connection with the shooting. He was allegedly in possession of a weapon found at the scene Saturday night.

Fisher was also charged in another incident. On Jan. 14 Fisher and Lavento Shamon Fox, 33, of 1801 3rd Avenue South, allegedly held a 47-year-old man at gunpoint and beat and robbed him. The incident allegedly happened in the 1600 block of Washington Avenue on Jan. 14. Fox was also arrested Tuesday.

Both men went before Municipal Judge Gary Goodwin. Fisher was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a felon. His bond was set at $250,000 for the armed robbery charge and $50,000 each on the other two charges.

Fox was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a felon. bond was set at $400,000 for the armed robbery charge, $250,000 for the aggravated assault charge and $30,000 for the possession of a weapon by a felon charge.
