A Caledonia man is in critical condition after rolling his SUV near Mississippi University for Women Sunday afternoon.
About 3:30 p.m. a green Ford Expedition driven by Woody Robinson left the road near the MUW softball field on 15th Street South, went through a ditch and then rolled at least once. Robinson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
He was taken by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with critical injuries, and was later airlifted to Tupelo, where he remains hospitalized.
The wreck left debris scattered over a wide area, and the truck’s battery was reportedly found near the Charles Brown Basketball Pavilion.
Robinson’s wife has set up a GoFundMe account with a $5,000 goal to help cover their expenses: www.gofundme.com/woodyandnicolerobinson.
