A 25-year-old Columbus man is arrested for the second time in a month on sexual battery charges.

According to Columbus Police, La’Real Jones of 1115 10th Avenue North, was arrested Thursday at his job for allegedly having inappropriate relations with a child under the age of 14. He was arrested two weeks ago on a similar charge and was out of jail on $25,000 bond when he was arrested Thursday.

City Court Judge Gary Goodwin denied bond this time and Jones remains in jail.

Police say the charge stems from a continuing investigation following the first incident, which police said was reported in mid-March. The victim in this second alleged incident is different from the one in the first case, police said.

The alleged incidents happened at Jones’ residence where he lives with relatives.
