The wife of a Lowndes County lawyer and former state Supreme Court justice is seriously injured in a traffic accident.
Pamela Easley, the 65-year-old wife of Chuck Easley, was westbound on Cal-Kolola Road Thursday when she lost control of the 2014 Toyota FJ she was driving. It rolled and came to rest on the passenger side against a line of trees.
District 1 volunteer firefighters got her out of the car and she was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Sheriff’s deputies say she was about a mile from her home when the accident occurred a mile west of Stevens Road near Jemison Road in northern Lowndes County. The small SUV was towing a trailer at the time. Deputies say the car left the right side of the road and the trailer broke lose when car started to roll.
Deputies say they aren’t sure what caused her to lose control.
