A man was caught between an truck and a piece of paving equipment last Thursday around 11 a.m. but escaped serious injury.
The accident occurred on Second Avenue North, just behind the former location of the Gilmer Inn. According to Columbus Public Information Officer Joe Dillon, the man, an employee of Falcon Contracting, was attempting to hook up a water truck to a piece of paving equipment when the truck slipped out of gear and rolled forward, briefly pinning him.
Dillon said he was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, where he was treated and released.
As of Tuesday morning he was already back at work, Dillon said.
The work was part of the ongoing improvements to Second Avenue.
