A man has been charged with possession of a weapon by a felon following a shot fired at United Deli on July 5.
According to CPD, Quinton Hayden, 33, of 614 Sycamore Street, was taken into custody later that same day and charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $10,000 by Municipal Court Judge Rhonda Ellis.
A single shot was fired during a dispute between Hayden and James Sharkey at the gas pumps outside the deli around noon. Multiple patrons witnessed the event, which was also caught on video. Both men had left by the time law enforcement arrived, but were stopped at different locations by CPD and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
