The Columbus Police Department needs your help locating a suspect that is wanted for Intimidating a Witness. Tuesday, Nov, 7, a warrant was issued for Joanne Smith, 36, concerning an incident that occurred on Nov. 4 at the Premier Lounge on 22nd Street South in Columbus.

Intimidating a Witness is a felony and if convicted can carry a maximum sentence of $5,000 and/or 15 years in prison.

Smith was arrested in August for the same crime.

CPD officers arrested her on Brooks Road Monday after she allegedly threatened the victim of a crime.

Smith and the victim became involved in a “disturbance” over a case presented to a grand jury in Lowndes County Circuit Court, according to a press release from CPD. The case resulted in indictments, and Smith allegedly threatened the victim in the case to influence the victim’s testimony.

As of July, the maximum sentence for intimidating a witness from five years to 15 years in prison, according to the press release.
