Robert Beck, the Columbus man charged in a shooting that occurred at the local Cracker Barrel last Friday, has waived extradition, according to Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton.
Beck will be brought back to Columbus within the next five days to face a charge of aggravated assault, according to Shelton.
Beck will also face a new charge of felon in possession of a weapon when he returns to Columbus, according to Shelton. He could face additional charges as the case is investigated.
Beck was arrested in Tennessee by the Tennessee Highway Patrol less than 12 hours after allegedly opening fire inside the restaurant, wounding one.
