Two teenagers were sent to the hospital after an SUV rolled over on Yorkville Road Wednesday morning.

According to a spokesman for the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area near Garden Hill Assisted Living shortly before noon on Dec. 19. When they arrived they found a 2004 GMC Envoy that had rolled over and struck a light pole, snapping it in two. The Envoy was apparently traveling west when the driver lost control.

The 16-year-old driver and an 18-year-old passenger were taken by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. A 14-year-old who was also in the car was not injured.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
