According to Sheriff Mike Arledge, Clark Earl Allen Jr., 20, of 47 Fulton Lane, Starkville, has been charged with capital murder in the Jan. 15 shooting deaths of three men in Artesia.

Allen was a guest inside the home at the time of the murders, but investigators are not releasing any details about motive at this time, Arledge said.

Deputies responding to a shots fired call on Mobile Drive in Artesia found three men dead at a trailer. Shortly afterwards, patrol deputies captured Allen nearby.

According to the Lowndes County Coroner’s Office, the victims were Demario Anquan Snell, 31, of Artesia; Mauricio Lamarcus Nance, 22, of Columbus; and Tyshun Bernard Fields, 24, from Crawford. Two of the men were found inside, and the third found just outside behind the mobile home.

Allen in being charged under Mississippi Code 93-3-19, which makes murder a capital offense when three or more people are killed during the same act. He was formally charged Jan. 16.
