Kristopher Kellum, who was the subject of a search by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Highway Patrol after he allegedly fled from officers, was taken into custody this morning at approximately 7:45 a.m. He was hiding in a storage building north of the Lowndes County line in Monroe County (beside the old truck stop). The United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force and Mississippi Highway Patrol received information of Kellum’s location and took him into custody without incident. Kellum was armed with a firearm at the time of his arrest. He was transported back to Lowndes County where he is being held on a bench warrant from Lowndes County Circuit Court for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
