Gardner Boulevard at Highway 182 is closed to through traffic until this weekend after a sinkhole opened. Maxwell Lane will also be closed at Gardner.
According to a press release put out by the City of Columbus, emergency sewer repairs are needed, and so both streets must be closed. The sewer line is over 10 feet below the pavement.
Southbound traffic from Waterworks Road will be diverted at Hemlock Street next to Cash and Carry Building Supply, then routed to Browder Street. Businesses on Gardner will sill be accessible to employees and customers, but there will be no through traffic.
The sinkhole was reported about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
